प्रयत्नं कृतवन्तो5पि दृश्यन्ते ह्फला नरा: । मार्गत्यायशतैरर्थानमार्गश्वापर: सुखी

Transliteration

yudhiṣṭhira uvāca | prayatnaṃ kṛtavanto 'pi dṛśyante hy aphalā narāḥ | mārgatyāyaśatair arthān amārgaś cāparaḥ sukhī ||

Translation

யுதிஷ்டிரன் கூறினான்— முயன்றும் பயனின்றி இருப்போர் காணப்படுகின்றனர். ஒருவன் நூற்றுக்கணக்கான நீதிமுறைகளால் பொருளைத் தேடிக் கொண்டிருக்க, மற்றொருவன் தவறான வழியில் சென்றும் செல்வத்தால் சுகமுடையவனாய் தோன்றுகிறான்.
