कथितं त्वनयासत्यं गायत्रया कन्यया दिवि । विजेष्याम्यवशानू् सर्व ब्राद्मणांश्वर्मवासस:
kathitaṃ tv anayā satyaṃ gāyatrayā kanyayā divi | vijeṣyāmy avaśān sarvān brāhmaṇān carmavāsasaḥ |
அர்ஜுனன் கூறினான்—வானில் இருந்த காயத்ரீ எனும் கன்னி ‘பிராமணர் க்ஷத்திரியரைவிட மேன்மை உடையோர்’ என்று அறிவித்தது உண்மையல்ல. மிருகத்தோல் அணிந்த அந்தப் பிராமணர் பெரும்பாலும் பிறர்மீது சார்ந்தும் கட்டுப்பட்டும் இருப்பர்; அவர்களையெல்லாம் நான் வெல்வேன். மூன்று உலகங்களிலும் எந்தத் தேவனும் மனிதனும் என்னை என் அரசாட்சியிலிருந்து அகற்ற இயலாது; ஆகவே நான் பிராமணனையும் விட மேன்மையுடையவன்.
