अत्रे: पुत्रश्न धर्मात्मा ऋषि: सारस्वतस्तथा । वरुणस्यर्त्विज: सप्त पश्षचिमां दिशमाश्रिता:
atreḥ putraś ca dharmātmā ṛṣiḥ sārasvatas tathā | varuṇasyartvijaḥ sapta paścimāṁ diśam āśritāḥ || dṛḍheyuḥ ṛteyuḥ kīrtimān parivyādhaḥ sūryakā-sadṛśa-tejasvī ekataḥ dvitā tritā tathā dharmātmā atreḥ putraḥ sārasvata-muniḥ ||
பீஷ்மர் கூறினார்—அத்திரியின் புதல்வனான தர்மாத்மா ரிஷியும், சாரஸ்வத முனிவரும் (அவர்களுள்) உள்ளனர். இவர்கள் ஏழுவரும் வருணனின் ரித்விக்கள்; மேற்கு திசையில் தங்குகின்றனர்.
