एको विष्णुर्महदभूतं पृथग्भूतान्यनेकश: । त्रीललोकान् व्याप्य भूतात्मा भुछुक्ते विश्वभुगव्यय:
eko viṣṇur mahadabhūtaṃ pṛthagbhūtāny anekaśaḥ | trīl lokān vyāpya bhūtātmā bhuṅkte viśvabhug avyayaḥ ||
பீஷ்மர் கூறினார்—அழிவிலாத விஷ்ணு ஒருவனே; அவனே மாபெரும் பிரபஞ்சமாக ஆனான்; மேலும் எண்ணற்ற உயிர்களாகப் பிரிந்து பல்வேறு வடிவங்களைத் தாங்குகிறான். மூவுலகமெங்கும் பரவி, எல்லா உயிர்களின் உள்ளாத்மாவாக இருந்து, உலகை அனுபவிப்பவனாகவும் தாங்குபவனாகவும் இருக்கிறான்.
