Adhyāya 152 — Bhīṣma’s Authorization for Yudhiṣṭhira’s Return to the Capital (नगरप्रवेशानुज्ञा)
स्त्रीधर्म: पूर्व एवायं विवाहे बन्धुभि: कृत: । सहधर्मचरी भर्तुर्भवत्यग्निसमीपत:
strī-dharmaḥ pūrva evāyaṃ vivāhe bandhubhiḥ kṛtaḥ | saha-dharma-carī bhartur bhavaty agni-samīpataḥ ||
மகேஸ்வரர் கூறினார்—“மனைவியின் இந்தக் கடமை திருமணத்தின் போதே அவளுடைய உறவினரால் முன்கூட்டியே நிறுவப்படுகிறது. ஏனெனில் புனித அக்னியின் அருகிலேயே அவள் கணவனின் ஸஹதர்மசாரிணியாக—தர்மவழியில் அவனுடன் இணைந்து நடப்பவளாக—ஆகிறாள்.”
