गृहस्थ ब्राह्मण घरमें रहकर प्रतिदिन संहिताका पाठ और शास्त्रोंका स्वाध्याय करे। अध्ययनको जीविकाका साधन न बनावे
gṛhastho brāhmaṇo gṛhe sthitvā pratidinaṃ saṃhitā-pāṭhaṃ ca śāstrāṇāṃ svādhyāyaṃ ca kuryāt | adhyayanaṃ jīvikā-sādhanaṃ na kuryāt |
மகேஸ்வரர் கூறினார்—இல்லற வாழ்வில் உள்ள பிராமணன் இல்லத்தில் இருந்து தினமும் ஸம்ஹிதா பாராயணம் செய்து, சாஸ்திரங்களின் சுவாத்யாயத்தை மேற்கொள்ள வேண்டும். கல்வியை வாழ்வாதாரமாக மாற்றக் கூடாது.
