न भक्षयति यो मांसं न च हन्यान्न घातयेत् । तम्मित्रं सर्वभूतानां मनु: स्वायम्भुवोडब्रवीत्
na bhakṣayati yo māṁsaṁ na ca hanyān na ghātayet | taṁ mitraṁ sarvabhūtānāṁ manuḥ svāyambhuvo 'bravīt ||
ஸ்வாயம்புவ மனு கூறினார்—எவன் மாமிசம் உண்ணாதோ, தானே கொல்லாதோ, பிறரால் கொல்லச் செய்யாதோ, அவனே எல்லா உயிர்களுக்கும் நண்பன்.
