उपवासफलात्मकविधिः — Upavāsa as Yajña-Equivalent Merit

चत्वारिंशत् सहस््राणि वर्षाणां दिवि मोदते । वह चक्रवाकोंद्वारा वहन किये हुए विमानसे स्वर्गलोकमें जाता है और वहाँ चालीस हजार वर्षोतक आनन्द भोगता है
catvāriṁśat sahasrāṇi varṣāṇāṁ divi modate |
அங்கிரர் கூறினார்—அவன் சொர்க்கத்தில் நாற்பதாயிரம் ஆண்டுகள் மகிழ்ந்து வாழ்வான். சக்கரவாகப் பறவைகள் இழுக்கும் விமானத்தில் சொர்க்கலோகத்திற்குச் சென்று அங்கே நாற்பதாயிரம் ஆண்டுகள் இன்பம் அனுபவிப்பான்.
