Praise of Ācāra as the Basis of Longevity, Fame, and Prosperity
तोयपूर्व प्रदायान्नमतिथि भ्यो विशाम्पते । पश्चाद् भुञज्जीत मेधावी न चाप्यन्यमना नर:
toyapūrvaṃ pradāyānnam atithibhyo viśāmpate | paścād bhuñjīta medhāvī na cāpy anyamanā naraḥ ||
பீஷ்மர் கூறினார்—மக்களுடைய தலைவனே! முதலில் விருந்தினர்க்கு நீர் அளித்து, பின்னர் அன்னம் வழங்க வேண்டும். அதன் பின்பே அறிவுடையவன் தானே உண்ண வேண்டும்; உண்ணும் போது மனம் சிதறாமல் இருக்க வேண்டும்.
