शतक्रतुरुवाच येषां वेदा निहिता वै गुहायां मनीषिणां सत्यवतां महात्मनाम् | तेषां त्वयैकेन महात्मनास्मि वृद्धस्तस्मात् प्रीतिमांस्तेडहमद्य
śatakratur uvāca yeṣāṃ vedā nihitā vai guhāyāṃ manīṣiṇāṃ satyavatāṃ mahātmanām | teṣāṃ tvayā ekena mahātmanā asmi vṛddhas tasmāt prītimāṃs te ’ham adya ||
சதக்ரது (இந்திரன்) கூறினான்—சத்தியவானும், ஞானியும் ஆகிய மகாத்மாக்களின் இதயக் குகையில் வேதங்கள் உறைந்துள்ளன; அவர்களுள் நீயே முதன்மை. ஓ மகாத்மா, உன் ஒருவனின் நலச்சிந்தனையாலேயே நான் செழித்தேன்; ஆகவே இன்று உன்னிடம் மிகுந்த அன்பும் மகிழ்ச்சியும் கொண்டுள்ளேன்.
