पुराण पुरुषः प्रोक्तो ब्रह्मा प्रोक्तो द्विजातिषु / क्षये सङ्कर्षणः प्रोक्तस्तमुपास्यमुपास्महे

purāṇa puruṣaḥ prokto brahmā prokto dvijātiṣu / kṣaye saṅkarṣaṇaḥ proktastamupāsyamupāsmahe

அவர் ஆதிப் புருஷன் எனப் போற்றப்படுகிறார்; இருமுறை பிறந்தோரிடையே ‘பிரம்மா’ எனச் சொல்லப்படுகிறார்; பிரளய-அழிவு காலத்தில் ‘சங்கர்ஷணன்’ என அறிவிக்கப்படுகிறார். அந்த வணங்கத்தக்கவரை நாம் வணங்குகிறோம்।
