Varṇāśrama-Dharma and the Thirty Qualities of a Human Being
वैश्यस्तु वार्तावृत्ति: स्यान्नित्यं ब्रह्मकुलानुग: । शूद्रस्य द्विजशुश्रूषा वृत्तिश्च स्वामिनो भवेत् ॥ १५ ॥
vaiśyas tu vārtā-vṛttiḥ syān nityaṁ brahma-kulānugaḥ śūdrasya dvija-śuśrūṣā vṛttiś ca svāmino bhavet
வைசியனின் தொழில் ‘வார்த்தா’—விவசாயம், பசு பாதுகாப்பு, வாணிபம்—மேலும் அவன் எப்போதும் பிராமணர்களின் வழிகாட்டுதலைப் பின்பற்ற வேண்டும். சூத்ரனின் ஒரே கடமை உயர்ந்த வர்ணத்தாரான எஜமானனை ஏற்று அவனுக்கு சேவை செய்வதே॥15॥
