ete hīkṣvāku-bhūpālā atītāḥ śṛṇv anāgatān bṛhadbalasya bhavitā putro nāmnā bṛhadraṇaḥ

இக்ஷ்வாகு வம்சத்தின் இவ்வரசர்கள் அனைவரும் கடந்துபோயினர். இனி வருங்காலத்தில் பிறப்போரைக் கேளுங்கள். ப்ருஹத்பலனுக்கு ப்ருஹத்ரணன் என்ற மகன் பிறப்பான்.
