FAQs

The epithet characterizes the Daitya as a formidable opponent who humiliates or subdues the Devas, creating the narrative necessity for Viṣṇu’s intervention to re-establish cosmic balance.

In Purāṇic battle diction it is a performative proclamation—part taunt, part declaration of inevitable fate—often accompanying the discharge of a divine weapon whose efficacy is unquestioned.

It highlights the cakra’s irresistible, unerring nature: speed here signifies both physical swiftness and the immediacy of divine justice (daṇḍa) when dharma is threatened.
