Significance: Guides devotees to align worship with lunar potency; supports vrata-dharma and intensifies devotional merit (puṇya) through proper timing.
Shakti Form: Gaurī
Role: nurturing
Offering: dipa
It highlights that devotion to Devī (Umā/Parvatī), observed on specific tithis, is spiritually potent and supports Shaiva dharma—since Shakti is honored as inseparable from Shiva’s grace and auspicious power.
In the Shiva Purana’s devotional framework, worship of Devī complements Saguna Shiva worship: honoring Umā naturally harmonizes with Linga-pūjā because Shiva and Shakti are taught as united in worship and fruit-giving grace.
Perform Devī-pūjā on the named tithis (e.g., offering flowers, lamp, and mantra-japa); a Shaiva devotee may also add Panchākṣarī japa ("Om Namaḥ Śivāya") as supportive practice alongside reverence to Umā.
