Cosmic Event: genealogical linkage to Hiraṇyagarbha (cosmic Brahmā principle) within manvantara accounts
It situates revered rishis within the cosmic order—showing that even exalted lineages arise within creation (Brahmā/Hiraṇyagarbha), while Shaiva teaching ultimately points beyond mere birth-lineage to liberation through Śiva’s grace and right knowledge.
By grounding the narrative in rishi lineages, the Purana establishes authoritative transmitters of dharma who uphold Shiva-worship; in Shaiva Siddhanta, such rishis are conduits for Linga-centered practice and devotion to Saguna Śiva as the accessible form of the Supreme Pati.
The verse itself is genealogical, but its practical takeaway is to receive Shiva-upāsanā through authentic rishi-paramparā—regular japa of the Panchākṣarī ("Om Namaḥ Śivāya") and disciplined purity (bhasma/rudrākṣa as prescribed elsewhere) under proper guidance.
