Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Umāpati
Significance: Establishes nitya-pūjā (daily regulated worship) as a means for the bound soul (paśu) to receive Śiva’s anugraha (grace) and attain legitimate aims (dharma-artha-kāma) in a purified way.
Shakti Form: Pārvatī
Role: nurturing
The verse emphasizes nitya-pūjā (daily worship) performed with vidhi (scriptural discipline). In a Śaiva Siddhānta lens, steady, rule-aligned devotion purifies the paśu (bound soul), loosens pāśa (bondage), and turns desire toward Śiva’s grace, which ultimately culminates in liberation.
The language of āvāhana (invocation) and visarjana (ritual conclusion) reflects Saguna worship—approaching Śiva in an accessible form such as the Śiva-liṅga. The devotee serves through saparyā (formal offerings), using the form as a sacred support while recognizing Śiva as the transcendent Pati beyond form.
It suggests performing Śiva-pūjā daily with proper sequence: invoke (āvāhana), offer service (saparyā) as prescribed, and conclude respectfully (visarjana). As a practical takeaway, accompany the worship with japa of the Pañcākṣarī—“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”—to keep the mind anchored in devotion.
