Suta Goswami (narrating the Kailasha Samhita teachings to the sages, in a yogic/meditative context)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Type: stotra
Shakti Form: Gaurī
Role: nurturing
Offering: pushpa
It guides a meditator to recognize Shiva’s presence as luminous consciousness pervading all directions, and to contemplate His śakti as subtle, pure, auspicious, and unfailing—qualities that dissolve bondage (pāśa) and orient the soul (paśu) toward liberation under Pati (Shiva).
While the Supreme is ultimately beyond form (nirguṇa), this verse supports saguna-upāsanā by providing contemplative attributes—radiance, purity, victorious power—through which the devotee can steady the mind, much like focusing on the Linga as Shiva’s manifest support for meditation.
Directional dhyāna: mentally place Shiva’s luminous, subtle, and auspicious power in the spaces of the directions and their centers, coordinating the visualization with japa of the Panchakshara ("Om Namaḥ Śivāya") to stabilize attention and invoke Shiva’s unfailing grace.
