'O Sugriva! you have done what a friend should have done in a befitting manner with your sweet words and good wishes.
Dharma of friendship: a true friend speaks with affection and seeks the other’s good in a way that is appropriate to the situation.
Rāma responds to Sugrīva’s consoling counsel by acknowledging it as the proper duty of a sincere friend.
Sugrīva’s loyal friendship (sakhya-dharma) and Rāma’s gratitude and fairness in recognizing it.
