धर्मकामः पितृव्यस्ते प्रीतिकामो दृढव्रतः।शुचिस्सत्यप्रतिज्ञश्च न त्वां जातु जिघांसति।।।।
dharmakāmaḥ pitṛvyas te prītikāmo dṛḍhavrataḥ |
śuciḥ satyapratijñaś ca na tvāṁ jātu jighāṁsati ||
धर्मकामः पितृव्यस्ते प्रीतिकामो दृढव्रतः। शुचिः सत्यप्रतिज्ञश्च न त्वां जातु जिघांसति॥
'Your father's brother is virtuous, well-intentioned, loving, steadfast in action, and true to his promise. He will not kill you.
Dharma is grounded in satya (truthfulness) and vow-keeping: a righteous ruler/elder does not betray kin or violate pledged protection.
