पाण्डवपरिचयः—विराटसभायां प्रकाशनम्

तान् प्रस्थितान् प्रीतमना: स पार्थो धनंजय: प्रेक्ष्य कुरुप्रवीरान् । अभाषमाणोनुनयं मुहूर्त वचोडब्रवीत् सम्परिह्ृत्य भूय:,पितामहं शान्तनवं च वृद्ध द्रोणं गुरुं च प्रणिपत्य मूर्ध्ना । उन कौरववीरोंको वहाँसे प्रस्थान करते देख कुन्तीपुत्र धनंजय मन-ही-मन बड़े प्रसन्न हुए। वे दो घड़ीतक किसीसे अनुनय-विनयपूर्ण वचन न कहकर मौन रहे। फिर लौटकर उन्होंने वृद्ध पितामह भीष्म और गुरु द्रोणाचार्यके चरणोंमें मस्तक झुकाकर प्रणाम किया और कुछ बातचीत भी की
tān prasthitān prītamanāḥ sa pārtho dhanañjayaḥ prekṣya kurupravīrān | abhāṣamāṇo nunayaṃ muhūrtaṃ vaco ’bravīt samparihṛtya bhūyaḥ || pitāmahaṃ śāntanavaṃ ca vṛddhaṃ droṇaṃ guruṃ ca praṇipatya mūrdhnā |
