घुलस्त्य उवाच
The verse teaches that disciplined pilgrimage and reverent residence at a sacred place can yield great spiritual merit, here expressed as the fruit equal to donating a thousand cows—encouraging dharmic effort through tirtha-yatra.
The speaker instructs the addressed king on the next step of a pilgrimage itinerary: go to the sacred Campakāraṇya and stay one night; doing so grants the pilgrim the stated merit (gosahasra-phala).
