नारद उवाच
The verse frames even terrifying, illusion-wielding beings as arising within a divinely structured cosmos; therefore, ethical clarity (dharma) and discernment are essential when confronting raw power, fear, or magical display.
Nārada addresses Mātali and describes the inhabitants of a particular city/region: specific Asuras (Kālakhajja) and other demonic classes (Nairṛtas, Yātudhānas), noting their formidable nature and their mythic origins from the feet of Viṣṇu and Brahmā.
