Human Effort, Contingency, and the Political Effects of Corrupt Counsel
सम्पाद्यमानं सम्यक् च स्यात् कर्म सफल प्रभो । स तथा कृष्ण वर्तस्व यथा शर्म भवेत् परैः:
sampādyamānaṃ samyak ca syāt karma saphala prabho | sa tathā kṛṣṇa vartasva yathā śarma bhavet paraiḥ ||
सम्पाद्यमानं सम्यक् च स्यात् कर्म सफल प्रभो । स तथा कृष्ण वर्तस्व यथा शर्म भवेत् परैः ॥
अर्जुन उवाच
Arjuna emphasizes that careful, proper execution of an undertaking makes success possible, and he urges Kṛṣṇa to apply this principle to diplomacy—seeking a peace that secures welfare rather than rushing toward war.
In the Udyoga Parva’s pre-war negotiations, Arjuna addresses Kṛṣṇa as a trusted guide and asks him to act so that a settlement with the opposing side may be achieved, aiming for peace and security between the parties.
