देवै्हि सम्भूतो दिव्यो रथो गाण्डीवधन्चन: । न स जेयो मनुष्येण मा सम कृढद्ध्वं मनो युधि,'गाण्डीव धनुष धारण करनेवाले वीर अर्जुनका दिव्य रथ देवताओंद्वारा सुरक्षित है। कोई भी मनुष्य उन्हें जीत नहीं सकता, अतः तुमलोग अपने मनको युद्धकी ओर न जाने दो”
dhṛṣṭadyumna uvāca—idaṃ māṃ vaco gatasādhvasam | devaiḥ sambhūto divyo ratho gāṇḍīvadhanvanaḥ | na sa jeyo manuṣyeṇa mā sma kṛdhvaṃ mano yudhi ||
देवैः सम्भूतो दिव्यो रथो गाण्डीवधन्वनः । न स जेयो मनुष्येण मा स्म कृध्वं मनो युधि ॥
धृष्टद्युम्न उवाचेदं मां वचो गतसाध्वसम् |
Dhṛṣṭadyumna urges strategic and ethical prudence: when a warrior is divinely supported and effectively unconquerable by ordinary means, reckless aggression is folly; one should restrain the impulse toward war and weigh consequences.
In the Udyoga Parva’s pre-war deliberations, Dhṛṣṭadyumna warns others about Arjuna’s exceptional, god-supported martial power—especially his divine chariot and the Gāṇḍīva—counseling them not to fix their minds on fighting him as if he were an ordinary opponent.
