Sanatsujāta-Āhvāna (Summoning Sanatsujāta) — Vidura’s Invocation and Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s Doubt

True honor is unforced and un-sought: the genuinely worthy are respected even without campaigning for respect. When honor comes, one should avoid pride, and when encountering the honorable, one should avoid envy or inner burning.
In Sanatsujāta’s instruction (within Udyoga Parva), he teaches Dhṛtarāṣṭra ethical self-mastery: how a wise person should relate to praise and status—neither becoming arrogant when honored nor resentful toward those who deserve honor.
