विदुर उवाच
A ruler’s true fame arises from dharmic governance: an elder, especially a king and father, must restrain and discipline his sons for the good of the family and the realm.
Vidura is advising the king (Dhṛtarāṣṭra) that he should exercise authority over his sons; by curbing their wrongdoing and guiding them, the king will earn lasting reputation and prevent greater harm.
