Educational Q&A

The verse teaches that steadfast dharmic discipline yields tangible protections and blessings—freedom from enemy-born fear, avoidance of calamity, longevity, and consistent success—presented as moral causality rather than mere fortune.

In Udyoga Parva, amid counsel and preparations surrounding the impending conflict, Śalya speaks in a didactic tone, describing the auspicious results that accrue to a person who follows the recommended righteous course or observance being discussed in the surrounding passage.
