ततः स राजर्षिरभूद् दुः:खशोकसमन्वित: । कार्य च प्रतिपेदे तन्मनसा सुमहातपा:,तब उन महातपस्वी राजर्षिने दुख और शोकसे संतप्त हो मन-ही-मन आवश्यक कर्तव्यका निश्चय किया
tataḥ sa rājarṣir abhūd duḥkhaśokasamanvitaḥ | kāryaṃ ca pratipede tanmanasā sumahātapāḥ ||
ततः स राजर्षिरभूद् दुःखशोकसमन्वितः । कार्यं च प्रतिपेदे तन्मनसा सुमहातपाः ॥
भीष्म उवाच
Even when afflicted by grief and sorrow, one should discern and inwardly commit to the necessary duty (kārya), letting dharma guide action rather than emotional collapse.
Bhīṣma describes a royal sage who, after being struck by sorrow, regains composure and mentally determines the required course of action—signaling a turn from lamentation to purposeful resolve.
