Ulūka’s Provocation and Keśava’s Counter-Message (उलूकदूत्ये केशवप्रत्युत्तरम्)
सगदाद् भीमसेनादू् वा फाल्गुनाद् वा सगाण्डिवात् । न वै मोक्षस्तदा भूद् वो विना कृष्णामनिन्दिताम्,“गदाधारी भीमसेन अथवा गाण्डीवधारी अर्जुनसे भी उस समय सती साध्वी द्रौपदीका सहारा लिये बिना तुमलोगोंका दासभावसे उद्धार न हो सका
sa-gadād bhīmasenād vā phālgunād vā sa-gāṇḍīvāt | na vai mokṣas tadā bhūd vo vinā kṛṣṇām aninditām ||
सञ्जय उवाच— सगदाद् भीमसेनाद्वा फाल्गुनाद्वा सगाण्डिवात्। न वै मोक्षस्तदा भूद् वो विना कृष्णामनिन्दिताम्॥
संजय उवाच
Mere martial power is not sufficient to secure true deliverance when dharma has been violated; moral legitimacy and the righteous claim for justice—here embodied by Draupadī, the blameless one—become essential for restoration and rescue.
Sañjaya emphasizes to the Kaurava side that, at the earlier crisis when the Pāṇḍavas fell into a condition of servitude, even heroes like Bhīma and Arjuna could not have achieved release without Draupadī; her presence and grievance were pivotal in the unfolding demand for redress that drives the conflict.
