Ulūka’s Message to the Pāṇḍavas
rukmiṇyā haraṇaṃ vīro vāsudevena dhīmatā |

Unchecked pride in one’s strength and status can turn a perceived insult into enduring hostility; wisdom and dharma require mastery over ego and resentment.
The narrator recalls that Rukmī, Rukmiṇī’s brother, remained unable to tolerate Kṛṣṇa (Vāsudeva) taking Rukmiṇī away; this background explains his antagonism and the ethical tension around honor and retaliation.
