Divodāsa–Mādhavī Saṃvāda: Pratardana-janma and Kanyā-niryātana (दिवोदास–माधवी संवादः / प्रतर्दन-जननम् / कन्या-निर्यातनम्)
सो5हमेकमपत्यं वै जनयिष्यामि गालव । अस्यामेतं भवान् काम॑ सम्पादयतु मे वरम्
so ’ham ekam apatyaṃ vai janayiṣyāmi gālava | asyām etaṃ bhavān kāmaṃ sampādayatu me varam ||
सोऽहं गालव, एकमेवापत्यं जनयिष्यामि; अस्याम् एतत् मे कामं भवान् सम्पादयतु—एष मे वरः।
नारद उवाच
The verse highlights the ethical weight of a vowed intention and the formal seeking of consent/assistance through a boon: a desire (kāma) is not merely felt but is to be responsibly fulfilled (sampādayatu) within agreed terms.
Nārada addresses Gālava, declaring his decision to beget a single child and asking Gālava to help accomplish this wish specifically ‘in this woman,’ framing it as a requested boon.
