Saṃsāra-Gahana Allegory: The Brāhmaṇa in the Forest and Well (संसारगहन-आख्यान)
वनमध्ये च तत्राभूदुदपान: समावृतः
vanamadhye ca tatrābhūd udapānaḥ samāvṛtaḥ
वनमध्ये च तत्राभूदुदपानः समावृतः।

The image of a well in a forest being covered suggests how sources of support—truth, counsel, or relief—can become obstructed in times of moral collapse and grief; dharma requires uncovering what sustains life and right action rather than letting it be buried.
Vidura describes a scene in the forest where a well is found but it is covered/blocked, setting a tone of hardship and impeded refuge—an evocative detail within the sorrow-laden context of the Strī Parva.
