यच्चाश्रुपातात् कलिलं वदनं वहसे नृप । आशान्त्रदृष्टमेतद्धि न प्रशंसन्ति पण्डिता:,“नरेश्वरर आप जो आँसुओंकी धारासे भीगा हुआ मुँह लिये फिरते हैं, यह अशास्त्रीय कार्य है। विद्वान् पुरुष इसकी प्रशंसा नहीं करते हैं
yaccāśrupātāt kalilaṁ vadanaṁ vahase nṛpa | aśāstradṛṣṭam etaddhi na praśaṁsanti paṇḍitāḥ ||
वैशम्पायन उवाच—नृप, यद् अश्रुपातेन कलिलं क्लिन्नं च वदनं वहसि, तद् अशास्त्रदृष्टम्; पण्डिता एतादृशं कर्म न प्रशंसन्ति।
