राष्ट्रगुप्ति-संग्रहः

Protection of the Realm and Principles of Revenue & Local Administration

आपत्स्वेव च वोढव्यं भवद्धि: पुड़वैरिव । न च प्रियतरं कार्य धनं कस्याज्चिदापदि,'जैसे बलवान बैल दुर्गम स्थानोंमें भी बोझ ढोकर पहुँचाते हैं, उसी प्रकार आप लोगोंको भी देशपर आयी हुई इस आपत्तिके समय कुछ भार उठाना ही चाहिये। किसी विपत्तिके समय धनको अधिक प्रिय मानकर छिपाये रखना आपके लिये उचित न होगा”

āpatsv eva ca voḍhavyaṃ bhavadbhiḥ pūḍavair iva | na ca priyataram kāryaṃ dhanaṃ kasyacid āpadi ||

“आपत्स्वेव भवद्भिः पुडवैरिव भारो वोढव्यः। आपदि धनं कस्यचित् प्रियतमं कृत्वा गूढं धारयितुं न युक्तम्; किं तु लोकहितार्थं यत् कर्तव्यं तत् धैर्येण वहनीयम्।”
