राजवृत्त-रक्षा-प्रणिधि-षाड्गुण्योपदेशः
Royal Conduct, Protection, Intelligence, and Policy Measures
राजा होवाखिलं लोकं॑ समुदीर्ण समुत्सुकम् । प्रसादयति धर्मेण प्रसाद्य च विराजते
rājā hovākhilaṃ lokaṃ samudīrṇaṃ samutsukam | prasādayati dharmeṇa prasādya ca virājate |
राजा ह्यखिलं लोकं समुदीर्णं समुत्सुकम्। प्रसादयति धर्मेण प्रसाद्य च विराजते॥
वसुमना उवाच
A king’s true power is dharma-based governance: by ruling justly he pacifies even a restless, desire-driven populace, and his own prosperity and radiance arise from that righteousness.
Vasumanā is describing the effect of righteous rule: the king maintains public contentment through dharma, and as a result both the realm and the ruler become stable, pleased, and illustrious.
