गुणभूतानि भूतेशे सूत्रे मणिगणा इव । उन्हींमें सम्पूर्ण प्राणी स्थित हैं और उन्हींमें उनका लय होता है। जैसे डोरेमें मनके पिरोये होते हैं, उसी प्रकार उन भूतेश्वर परमात्मामें समस्त त्रिगुणात्मक भूत पिरोये हुए हैं

bhīṣma uvāca | guṇabhūtāni bhūteśe sūtre maṇigaṇā iva |

गुणभूतानि भूतेशे सूत्रे मणिगणा इव। तस्मिन्सर्वाणि भूतानि स्थितानि तस्मिन्नेव च लीयन्ते॥

Educational Q&A

The many guṇa-formed beings depend upon and are sustained by the one Supreme Lord (Bhūteśa), just as beads depend on a thread; all existence rests in that Reality and ultimately returns to it.

In the Śānti Parva’s instruction section, Bhishma continues his philosophical counsel, using a vivid simile (beads on a thread) to explain how all creatures are held together by the Supreme and how their origin, support, and dissolution are in Him.
