Educational Q&A

The verse teaches the inviolability of the highest spiritual attainment: once a being has reached the supreme state (uttamā gati), no class of powerful beings—divine, semi-divine, demonic, or nāga—can prevent or overturn that fulfillment.

Sūrya is speaking within the Shānti Parva’s instruction-oriented setting, emphasizing a doctrinal point: spiritual culmination is beyond external interference, even from exalted cosmic beings.
