नियताहारता नित्यं व्रतचर्या यथाक्रमम्‌ । धर्मो हि धर्मसम्बन्धादिन्द्रियाणां विशेषत:,नियमित आहारका सेवन और विधिवत्‌ व्रतका पालन सबका धर्म है। धर्म-पालनके सम्बन्धसे इन्द्रियोंकी विशेषरूपसे शुद्धि होती है
