स कदाचिन्महेष्वास देवराजालयं गत: । सत्कृतश्च महेन्द्रेण प्रत्यासन्नगतो5भवत्,महाधनुर्धर नरेश! एक समय वे नारदजी देवराज इन्द्रके यहाँ पधारे। इन्द्रने उन्हें अपने समीप ही बिठाकर उनका बड़ा आदर-सत्कार किया
sa kadācin maheṣvāsa devarājālayaṁ gataḥ | satkṛtaś ca mahendreṇa pratyāsannagato 'bhavat |
स कदाचिन्महेष्वास देवराजालयं गतः । सत्कृतश्च महेन्द्रेण प्रत्यासन्नगतोऽभवत् ॥
भीष्म उवाच
The verse highlights dharmic conduct through satkāra—proper honor and hospitality shown to a revered sage. Even the king of the gods models ethical kingship by receiving a worthy guest with respect and closeness.
Nārada arrives at Indra’s celestial residence. Indra welcomes him, honors him, and seats him nearby, indicating high regard and readiness to listen.
