Atithi-satkāra and the Consolation of Wise Counsel (अतिथिसत्कारः प्रज्ञानवचनस्य च पराश्वासनम्)

अथ ब्रह्मवध्याभयप्रणष्टे त्रलोक्यनाथे शचीपतौ जगदनीश्वरं॑ बभूव देवान्‌ रजस्तमश्नाविवेश मन्त्रा न प्रावर्तन्त महर्षीणां रक्षांसि प्रादुरभवन्‌ ब्रह्म चोत्सादनं जगामानिन्द्राश्नाबला लोका: सुप्रधृष्या बभूवु:,ब्रह्महत्याके भयसे त्रिलोकीनाथ शचीपति इन्द्रके भागकर अदृश्य हो जानेपर इस जगत्‌का कोई ईश्वर नहीं रहा। देवताओंमें रजोगुण और तमोगुणका आवेश हो गया। महर्षियोंके मन्त्र अब कुछ काम नहीं दे रहे थे। राक्षस बढ़ गये। वेदोंका स्वाध्याय बंद हो गया। तीनों लोक इन्द्रसे अरक्षित होनेके कारण निर्बल एवं सुगमतासे जीत लेने योग्य हो गये

atha brahmavadhyābhayapraṇaṣṭe trilokyanāthe śacīpatau jagadanīśvaraṃ babhūva | devān rajastamaś cānvāviśet | mantrā na prāvartanta maharṣīṇāṃ rakṣāṃsi prādurabhavan | brahma cotsādanaṃ jagāma | anindrāś ca balā lokāḥ supradhṛṣyā babhūvuḥ ||

अथ ब्रह्महत्याभयप्रणष्टे त्रैलोक्यनाथे शचीपतौ शक्रे तिरोभूते जगदनीश्वरं बभूव। देवान् रजस्तमसी समाविवेशतुः; महर्षीणां मन्त्राः फलवन्तो नाभवन्। रक्षांसि प्रादुरभवन्; वेदस्वाध्यायश्चोत्सादनं जगाम। इन्द्रेणारक्षिताः त्रयो लोकाः दुर्बलाः सुप्रधृष्याश्च बभूवुः।
