महाभूतानि सृष्ट्वैव तान् गुणान् निर्ममे पुन: । भूतेभ्यश्वैव निष्पन्ना मूर्तिमन्तश्न॒ तान् शृूणु
mahābhūtāni sṛṣṭvaiva tān guṇān nirmame punaḥ | bhūtebhyaś caiva niṣpannā mūrtimantaś ca tān śṛṇu ||
वैशम्पायन उवाच—महाभूतानि सृष्ट्वैव तेषां गुणान् पुनर्निर्ममे। शब्दस्पर्शादयस्तेषां गुणा अभवन्; तैरेव भूतेभ्यो मूर्तिमन्तः प्राणिनो निष्पन्नाः। तेषां नामानि शृणु यथाहं वक्ष्यामि॥
