Systems of Knowledge and Vyāsa’s Nārāyaṇa-Origin
उनके श्रेष्ठ शिष्य हुए राजा उपरिचर वसु
prajāpatisutāś cātra sadasyāś nābhavaṃs trayaḥ | ekataś ca dvitāś caiva tritāś caiva maharṣayaḥ ||
प्रजापतिसुताश्चात्र सदस्याश्चाभवंस्त्रयः । एकतश्च द्वितश्चैव त्रितश्चैव महर्षयः ॥
भीष्म उवाच
Dharma in sacred action depends on proper procedure and qualified participants; the presence of recognized sages as sadasyas legitimizes and stabilizes the ritual order.
Bhishma identifies three sages—Ekata, Dvita, and Trita, sons of Prajapati—as members of the sacrificial assembly in a particular yajña, situating the event within an authoritative Vedic lineage.
