न किंचिदपि पश्यामो हतचक्षुर्बलेन्द्रिया: । “भगवान्के उस अनिर्वचनीय तेजने हमारे चित्तको सहसा खींच लिया था; परंतु हमारे नेत्र
na kiñcid api paśyāmo hata-cakṣur balendriyāḥ |
भीष्म उवाच—न किञ्चिदपि पश्यामो हतचक्षुर्बलेन्द्रियाः। तस्य भगवतोऽनिर्वचनीयेन तेजसा नः चित्तं सहसाकृष्यत; किन्तु नेत्राणि बलं चेन्द्रियाणि च प्रतिहतानि, तस्मान्न स्पष्टं किञ्चिदपि द्रष्टुं शशाकिम।
भीष्म उवाच
Human senses and strength have limits; when confronted with the Lord’s overwhelming, indescribable splendor, ordinary perception fails. The passage underscores humility and the need for inner preparedness (purity, steadiness) to apprehend higher truth.
Bhīṣma describes a moment when the Lord’s radiance powerfully draws the mind, yet the observers cannot see clearly because their eyes and faculties are overpowered—suggesting an encounter with a divine manifestation that exceeds normal sensory capacity.
