नारायणानुशास्ता हि तदा देवी सरस्वती । विवेश तानृषीन् सर्वाल्लॉंकानां हितकाम्यया
nārāyaṇānuśāstā hi tadā devī sarasvatī | viveśa tān ṛṣīn sarvāl lokānāṃ hitakāmyayā ||
भीष्म उवाच—नारायणानुशास्ता हि तदा देवी सरस्वती, लोकानां हितकाम्यया तान् सर्वानृषीन् विवेश। न ह्येषा दिव्या प्रेरणा स्वेच्छया प्रवर्तते; परमेणैव नियुज्यते, सर्वभूतहिताय च प्रज्ञां वाणीं च विदुषां प्रवर्तयति।
भीष्म उवाच
True knowledge and eloquent teaching (Sarasvatī) are presented as divinely guided and ethically directed: inspiration should serve lokahita—universal welfare—rather than personal gain.
Under Nārāyaṇa’s instruction, Sarasvatī enters the assembled sages, empowering them from within so that their insight and speech may benefit all the worlds.
