Educational Q&A

The verse highlights disciplined humility and deliberate preparation as prerequisites for yoga: choosing an auspicious time (dawn), orienting oneself eastward, physically composing the limbs, and settling the mind into inward concentration.

A learned ascetic figure sits at sunrise facing east, gathers his limbs in a composed posture, and begins yogic absorption, signaling a transition from outward activity to inward contemplation.
