Yajña-bhāga-vyavasthā and the Pravṛtti–Nivṛtti Framework (यज्ञभागव्यवस्था तथा प्रवृत्तिनिवृत्तिधर्मविवेचनम्)
यो ब्रह्माण्यो द्वितीयो<स्ति त्रिषु लोकेषु वीर्यवान् । सो<भ्युद्धरत् त्विमां शक्तिमथवा कम्पयत्विति
yo brahmaṇyo dvitīyo 'sti triṣu lokeṣu vīryavān | so 'bhyuddharat tv imāṃ śaktim athavā kampayatv iti |
यो ब्रह्माण्यो द्वितीयोऽस्ति त्रिषु लोकेषु वीर्यवान् । सोऽभ्युद्धरत् त्विमां शक्तिमथवा कम्पयत्विति॥
भीष्म उवाच
The verse frames true superiority as a union of might and dharmic orientation: strength alone is insufficient; the worthiest hero is also brahmaṇya—one who honors and protects the Brahmins and the moral order they represent.
Bhishma recounts Skanda’s proclamation: he issues a cosmic challenge that anyone in the three worlds who is both supremely powerful and especially devoted to the Brahmins should uproot or at least shake his śakti (spear), thereby proving exceptional merit.
