शुकस्य योगसिद्धिः (Śuka’s Yogic Attainment and Ascent)
यहाँ इस जीवका कोई भी अपना नहीं है और वह भी किसीका अपना नहीं है। रास्तेमें मिले हुए राहगीरोंके समान यहाँ पत्नी तथा अन्य बन्धु-बान्धवोंका साथ हो जाता है, परंतु यहाँ पहले कभी किसीने किसीके साथ चिरकालतक सहवासका सुख नहीं उठाया है ।।
bhīṣma uvāca | na iha jīvasya kaścid api svajanaḥ, na cāyaṃ kasyacid api svajanaḥ | pathi saṃgatānām iva pathikānāṃ saṃyogaḥ patnyādyaiḥ bandhujanaiḥ bhavati; na tu pūrvaṃ kadācit kenacid kenacit sārdhaṃ cirakālaṃ sahavāsasukham anubhūtam || kṣipyante tena tenaiva niṣṭanantaḥ punaḥ punaḥ | kālena jātā yātā hi vāyunā iva bhra-saṃcayāḥ ||
नैवास्य कश्चिद् भवति नासौ भवति कस्यचित्। पथि सङ्गतवत् पत्नीबन्ध्वादिसमागमः॥ न च कश्चित् पुरा कस्यचित् चिरकालसहवाससुखं भुक्तवान्। क्षिप्यन्ते तेन तेनैव निष्टनन्तः पुनः पुनः। कालेन जाता याता हि वायुनेवाभ्रसञ्चयाः॥
भीष्म उवाच
All worldly relationships are temporary like chance meetings on a road; therefore one should cultivate detachment and clarity, recognizing that Time inevitably separates all beings despite their lamentation.
In the Shanti Parva’s instruction, Bhishma is counseling about the nature of worldly life: family bonds arise through circumstance, but Kāla (Time) drives beings toward death, illustrated through the image of wind scattering roaring clouds.
