पराशर उवाच
This verse is a colophon rather than a doctrinal statement: it marks the completion of the Parāśara-gītā portion within the Mokṣa-dharma section of the Śānti Parvan. Its significance is structural—signaling that a unit of liberation-oriented instruction has concluded within the Mahābhārata’s broader ethical framework.
The text formally closes the chapter and the embedded discourse attributed to the sage Parāśara. In the Śānti Parvan’s post-war setting, such closures punctuate extended teachings on dharma and liberation, indicating a transition to the next instructional segment.
