चिरकारी महाप्राज्ञो गौतमस्याभवत् सुतः । चिरेण सर्वकार्याणि विमृश्यार्थान् प्रपद्यते,कहते हैं, महर्षि गौतमके एक महाज्ञानी पुत्र था, जिसका नाम था चिरकारी। वह कर्तव्य-विषयोंका भलीभाँति विचार करके सारे कार्य विलम्बसे किया करता था
Cirakārī mahāprājño Gautamasyābhavat sutaḥ | cireṇa sarvakāryāṇi vimṛśyārthān prapadyate ||
चिरकारी महाप्राज्ञो गौतमस्याभवत् सुतः । चिरेण सर्वकार्याणि विमृश्यार्थान् प्रपद्यते ॥
भीष्म उवाच
One should not rush into action; ethical conduct is strengthened by careful reflection on duty and consequences before proceeding.
